Answer

By distance formula,

d = (x2x1)2+(y2y1)2\sqrt{(x2 - x1)^2 + (y2 - y1)^2}

Let P(x1, y1) and Q(x2, y2) be the given points

Co-ordinates of P = (2, 3)

Co-ordinates of Q = (4, 1)

PQ=(42)2+(13)2=22+(2)2=4+4=8=22.PQ = \sqrt{(4 - 2)^2 + (1 - 3)^2} \\[1em] = \sqrt{2^2 + (-2)^2} \\[1em] = \sqrt{4 + 4}\\[1em] = \sqrt{8} \\[1em] = 2\sqrt{2}.

Hence, distance between (2, 3) and (4, 1) = 222\sqrt{2} units.
