Answer

As we know,

μ=Speed of light in vacuum or air (c) Speed of light in glass (V)μ = \dfrac{\text{Speed of light in vacuum or air (c) }}{\text {Speed of light in glass (V)}} \\[0.5em]

Given,

Refractive index of glass, μ = 1.5

Speed of light in air, C = 3 × 108 m / s

Substituting the values in the formula above we get,

1.5=3×108VV=3×1081.5V=2×1081.5 = \dfrac{3 \times 10^8 }{V} \\[0.5em] V = \dfrac{3 \times 10^8}{1.5} \\[0.5em] \Rightarrow V = 2 \times 10^8

Hence, Speed of light in glass = 2 × 108 m s-1
