Since,

$\dfrac{OA}{OC} = \dfrac{OB}{OD}$ (Given)

∠AOB = ∠COD (Vertically opposite angles are equal).

∴ △AOB ~ △COD

Since, ratio of corresponding sides of similar triangles are proportional.

$\Rightarrow \dfrac{AB}{CD} = \dfrac{OB}{OD} \\[1em] \Rightarrow \dfrac{AB}{24} = \dfrac{2}{5} \\[1em] \Rightarrow AB = \dfrac{2}{5} \times 24 = \dfrac{48}{5} = 9.6 \text{ cm}.$

Hence, AB = 9.6 cm
