In △ AOB and △ COD,

⇒ ∠AOB = ∠COD (Vertically opposite angles are equal)

⇒ ∠OAB = ∠OCD (Alternate angles are equal)

∴ △ AOB ~ △ COD (By A.A. postulate)

Corresponding sides of similar triangle are in proportion.
