We know that,
Angle in semi-circle is a right angle.
∴ ∠BAD = 90°
From figure,
⇒ ∠BAD + ∠ADB + ∠DBA = 180°
⇒ 90° + ∠ADB + 35° = 180°
⇒ ∠ADB + 125° = 180°
⇒ ∠ADB = 180° - 125° = 55°.
We know that,
Angles subtended by the same chord on the circle are equal.
∴ a = ∠ADB = 55°.
Hence, a = 55°.
