To animate a/an text/object in a slide, follow these steps:

Step 1: Select the text or object in the slide, that is to be animated.

Step 2: Click the Animations tab that is available on the menu bar. It will display the various animation effects under the categories- Entrance, Emphasis, Exit and Motion.

Step 3: Click on the drop-down arrow from the Animation group. It will show a lot more effects in the drop-down list.

Step 4: When the various options under the Entrance Effect are clicked, it will show the animation effect of the selected slide. If you want to add more entrance effects, click More Entrance Effects.

Step 5: Select the effect in the Change Entrance Effect window and it will be added to the Animations tab. When an animation effect is added to a slide, the Effect Option button also appears under the Animations tab.

Step 6: Select the required effect, for example, Fly In and click the Effect Options button.

Step 7: From the drop-down list, select te direction in which you want to apply the effect to the slide.

The effect will appear on the text/object in the slide.
