Answer

Consider a = 3 cm, b = 4 cm and c = 5 cm

We know that

Semi perimeter (s) = (a+b+c)2\dfrac{(a + b + c)}{2}

Substituting the values we get,

s = (3+4+5)2=122\dfrac{(3 + 4 + 5)}{2} = \dfrac{12}{2} = 6 cm.

Area of triangle = s(sa)(sb)(sc)\sqrt{s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)}

Substituting values we get,

A=6(63)(64)(65)=6×3×2×1=36=6 cm2.A = \sqrt{6(6 - 3)(6 - 4)(6 - 5)} \\[1em] = \sqrt{6 \times 3 \times 2 \times 1} \\[1em] = \sqrt{36} \\[1em] = 6 \text{ cm}^2.

Hence, area of triangle = 6 cm2.
