Answer

Given, ΔLMN has been reduced by a scale factor (k) = 0.8 to Δ L'M'N'.

(i)

∴ M'N' = k × MN

⇒ M'N' = 0.8 × 8

⇒ M'N' = 6.4 cm

Hence, M'N' = 6.4 cm.

(ii)

∴ L'M' = k × LM

⇒ 5.4 = 0.8 × LM

⇒ LM = 5.40.8=6.75\dfrac{5.4}{0.8} = 6.75 cm.

Hence, LM = 6.75 cm.
