From figure,
length of cuboid = 12 + 12 = 24 cm
breadth of cuboid = 12 cm
height of cuboid = 12 cm
By formula,
Total surface area of cuboid = 2(lb + bh + hl)
= 2(24 × 12 + 12 × 12 + 12 × 24)
= 2(288 + 144 + 288)
= 2 × 720
= 1440 cm2.
Hence, surface area of resulting cuboid = 1440 cm2.
