(a) The points are labelled as follows:
- 1 → E
- 2 → N
- 3 → L
(b) Terminal 1 is connected to the metal body of the appliance.
(c) The fuse is connected to the live wire (numbered 3 in the diagram). It is so because if in case there is excessive flow of current, the fuse melts first and breaks down the circuit to protect appliances.
