Method of preparation are as follows :

(i) Zn(NO3)2 — By action of dilute acids on carbonate.

(ii) NH4Cl — By neutralisation of an alkali (titration)

(iii) ZnSO4 — By displacement of active metal and acid

(iv) ZnS — Direct combination (Synthesis)

(v) CaCO3 — By precipitation (double decomposition)

(vi) FeCl3 — Direct combination (Synthesis)

(vii) PbCl2 — Precipitation (double decomposition)

(viii) Pb(NO3)2 — Action of dil. acid on carbonates and bicarbonates
