In the figure (i) given below, ∠B < ∠A and ∠C < ∠D. Show that AD < BC.

Given,
∠B < ∠A
∴ AO < BO (As side opposite to smaller angle is smaller.) ……(i)
∠C < ∠D
∴ OD < OC (As side opposite to smaller angle is smaller.) …….(ii)
From (i) and (ii) it can be concluded,
⇒ AO + OD < BO + OC
⇒ AD < BC.
Hence, proved that AD < BC.
