If the mean of 6, 4, 7, a and 10 is 8, find the value of 'a'.

Sum of observations = 6 + 4 + 7 + a + 10 = a + 27.
By formula,
Mean =
⇒ 8 =
⇒ 40 = a + 27
⇒ a = 13.
Hence, the value of a = 13.
