If P(2, -1), Q(3, 4), R(-2, 3) and S(-3, -2) be four points in a plane, show that PQRS is a rhombus but not a square. Find the area of the rhombus.

By distance formula,

Here, PQ = QR = RS = PS.
So, PQRS can be a square or rhombus.
Calculating diagonal,
PR ≠ QS.
Since, diagonal of rhombus are not equal,
∴ PQRS is a rhombus
Area of rhombus =

= = 24 sq. units.
Hence, PQRS is a rhombus and area = 24 sq. units.
