(i) SO2 is evolved when dilute hydrochloric acid reacts with sodium sulphite.
Na2SO3 + 2HCl ⟶ 2NaCl + H2O + SO2 [g]
(ii) H2S gas is evolved when dilute hydrochloric acid reacts with Iron [II] sulphide.
FeS + 2HCl ⟶ FeCl2 + H2S
