Answer

(i) Amplitude = maximum displacement from the mean position.

From graph,

For A, Amplitude = 10 cm and

For B, Amplitude = 5 cm

Ratio between the two amplitudes —

105\dfrac{10}{5} = 21\dfrac{2}{1} = 2 : 1

Therefore, the ratio of the two amplitudes = 2 : 1

(ii) For A, Wavelength λ1 = 8 cm

For B, Wavelength λ2 = 16 cm

Ratio between the two Wavelengths —

816\dfrac{8}{16} = 12\dfrac{1}{2} = 1 : 2

Therefore, the ratio of the two wavelengths = 1 : 2
