Let (2x - y) = a.

(2x - y)2 - 11(2x - y) + 28 = a2 - 11a + 28.

Factorising we get,

a2 - 11a + 28 = a2 - 7a - 4a + 28.

= a(a - 7) - 4(a - 7)

= (a - 7)(a - 4)

= (2x - y - 7)(2x - y - 4).

Hence, (2x - y)2 - 11(2x - y) + 28 = (2x - y - 7)(2x - y - 4).
