(i) As we know,

Weight = mg

Given,

m = 10 kg

g = 9.8 m s-2

As m s-2 can be written as N kg-1,

So, g = 9.8 N kg-1

Substituting the values in the formula above, we get,

W=10×9.8W=98NW = 10 \times 9.8 \\[0.5em] W = 98 N\\[0.5em]

As 9.8 N = 1 kgf,

Hence, 98 N = 10 kgf

Therefore, weight in kgf = 10 kgf

(ii) Weight in newton = 98 N
