A force causes an acceleration of 10 m s-2 in a body of mass 500 g. What acceleration will be caused by the same force in a body of mass 5 kg ?

As we know,
Force (f) = mass (m) x acceleration (a)
Given,
m = 500 g
Converting g to kg,
1000 g = 1 kg
500 g = () x 500 kg
500 g = 0.5 Kg
Hence, m = 0.5 Kg
a = 10 m s -2
Substituting the values in the formula above we get,
Hence,
Magnitude of force = 5 N
If, m = 5 Kg , f = 5 N
Substituting the values in the formula above we get,
Hence, a = 1 m s -2
